Half Day : The temple of the Gods Sobek (the crocodile God) and Haroeris (the Falcon God) are found in Kom Ombo, a town which can easily be reached from Aswan. The temple is divided into two parts and commands a splendid position overlooking the River Nile, at a bend in the river. Surrounding the temple you will see the lush green vegeterian and the sugar cane fields, before giving way to the desert sands. The temple walls at Kom Ombo contain scenes of medical instruments used in ancient times and pilgrims visited Kom Ombo to be treated and healed by the Priests of Horus "the good doctor". Evidence of their visits can be seen from the ancient graffiti (Greek) which is found on the temple walls. Here you will find examples of mummified crocodiles which are placed on display, to show the worship of the Crocodile God Sobek.
